Renewal and Visa's

Sent our letter to the department of Homeland Security to update our expired fingerprints. I didn't know that your fingerprints expire???? I know...it seems dumb! We have to follow the rules or we can't bring the mermaid home. We did apply for our Visa's for travel to China. I had to Fed-Ex them to Houston. The forms you have to fill out are a pain in the...I'll be nice. They ask for dates and places and we just don't know all this info yet. They should be completed by the end of next week. I just did not like the fact that I had to send our passports in the mail. UGHHH!!!
By the way, other families are getting their LOA's...wish we had ours. We are at day 43. Come on China...Move those papers!!!!!!

Easter Bunny Visit

Went to see the Easter Bunny at the mall with our friends. The pirate and his friend, Jake Jake got to sit with the Easter Bunny.

Agency Appointment

Our Social Worker thinks we will be traveling in August. WHAT??????

We were NOT HAPPY about THAT!!!!! It is a wait and see situation now. Let's all hope it is sooner than later. She is a very nice woman. But, I hope she is wrong.

However, we talked about airplane tickets, hotels, crisp money...Yes, they like their money crisp, what to expect when we get to China and signed some more papers. Uggghh....

We have to apply for our Visa's to travel and renew our fingerprints with the the Dept. of Homeland Security (Immigration). We have some things to do for now.....

The best part of the meeting was placing our pin in the map on the wall. It is a map of China and the little red pins are representative of all the babies adopted from China through our agency office. Notice where I put our pin and look at the others. We are practically off the map!!! A first for our agency office.

Red Sox Saturday!

Uncle Cris took the pirate to see the Red Sox and Reds play. He was very excited....about riding in the VAN! Yes. You heard me...riding in the VAN! He said the field was not in a circle????, it was hot and he moved to a new seat and it was still hot and he wants to ride in Uncle Cris' van again.

Forget Disney World...riding in Uncle Cris' van ROCKS!!!! I can save soooo much money... Thanks Cris!

Registry

We went and registered at Toys R us and Target today. We picked fun things and things we need to finish the mermaids room. I hope we didn't miss anything!
The pirate did a great job picking things for his mei mei. I am really proud of him.

News from the Agency

We got an email from our agency. LOA papers are coming in quickly. Our social worker wants to see us to discuss paperwork updates and TRAVEL!!!!!
They are closed for the weekend...phooey!

Game night!

I just wanted to post some pictures from the pirates game tonight. He did great!

Furniture

We set up the mermaids furniture. It is "beachy" looking. Each day we come home from school, the pirate walks in and looks around at it. I think he is hoping we come home one day and she is HERE! Do you think he is excited?

Update

The pirate is feeling better. He has fallen asleep before his bedtime the last two nights!!! It has been very quiet around here. I think school is wearing him out. He is coughing more...which is a good sign because it is breaking up in his chest.

Feeling Better

The pirate is feeling much better today. He has had some crackers, a turkey sandwich and some soup. He has been drinking fluids and keeping everything down. Yeah!!!!!

Early Start to the Day

The pirate was up early today...4:30 am. His tummy is still hurting. He asked for some apple juice because he was thirsty. He did not keep it down for long!!! However, at about 8 am I gave him some Motrin and he was up! He said he felt better. So, we made it for T-Ball pictures at 9:30 and came directly home. Daddy and the pirate are napping.

No game for the pirate today. Coach said to get better...I hope he does.

Furniture

The mermaid 's furniture came in today. With the pirate being sick, plans changed. So, Daddy strapped the headboard to the top of Mommy's truck and fit everything else inside. He drove home very slowly as a cold front is coming in and it has been very windy today. The pirate and I could not believe he got it home in one piece. We went outside to check it out. Way to go Daddy!!!!

Had a great night....

but a terrible morning! The pirate woke up and said his tummy hurt. I checked his temp...101 degrees. We stayed home from school and he slept all day. I called the doctor and they squeezed us in...he has Bronchitis and an Ear Infection. I am glad it wasn't Strep again. I am tired of being sick! Poor kid. He missed his picnic with the principal today. The kids that get good grades on their report cards, get to have lunch with the principal each quarter. Anyway, he is still sick and now on antibiotics again. I took a picture of him laying down in my bed...I wish I could make him better!

One month ago....

We learned our agency matched us with the mermaid. It was very exciting and I can't believe a month has passed already. So, in honor of the mermaid coming home to be part of our family, we had chinese take out for dinner. Then, we raced off to the ballpark for the pirate's game. Aunt Staci came to watch. The pirate batted last again, so he had three more grand slams! He even "hot dogged it" from third plate to home. He played at the pitcher's mound and had a great stop on defense that popped him in the hand. He shook it off and and announced, "I'm OK!". That 's my boy!

Well...

Lots of families got their LOA's today. They are the papers you sign to accept the adoption. We did not get ours today. If our dossier had gone through review, we might have gotten our LOA. We are very close to review!!!! So, we will wait till next month. You never know.....

Trix are for Kids!

It is Sunday night and 7:45 PM and the pirate is asleep. Yes! ASLEEP!!!! He asked for some Trix cereal at 7:15 and I checked on him at 7:30 and found Trix EVERYWHERE!!!! Thank goodness he asked for it with no milk. Daddy couldn't help himself...it is really funny and cute. He placed a Trix on his lips and the pirate ate it! It was the funniest thing...we love you!

T-Ball Saturday

The pirates team, the T-Ball Braves played the T-Ball Dodgers today. They all played very well. The pirate hit 3 grand slam homeruns today (he was the last batter in the line up!!!) .Uncle Cris came to watch the pirate play.
