I don't think we are going to school tomorrow....

because he is in the floor. I found him this way. He would not take his Motrin. I asked him If I could do something for him. He told me to "go away". Not a chance....no school tomorrow.

FLU!!!!!

Yes, The Pirate has the Flu! Poor guy....

The doctor tested him right there in the office. He is on Tamiflu....I don't think it is helping. He went home early on Monday, stayed home on Tuesday, made it thru the day today (just barely) and is now asleep on the couch with a fever again! it is 7 :17 PM.

He has a ton of homework, Regional Invention Fair and a best Buddy's birthday party on Saturday. We have GOT to get this kid better.

Happy New Year!

We celebrated Spring Festival (that's Chinese New Year) today, and rang in the Year of the Ox. Cleaning the house, money in red envelopes, eating chinese food and making lanterns to decorate are all new traditions we will be trying to incorporate into our family. Now that we are a multi-cultural family...it is important to us to include some Chinese traditions for The Mermaid. The Pirate loves it! He even tried to say it was a "holiday" (like Christmas) and we should not have to go to school!!!!

I REALLY did ask for this....

Waiting in the chair....

Here is a before picture....
The AFTER picture! Happy girl!!!!
The Mermaid really wanted to get her ears pierced. She looks at mine and knows the Princess has hers already done. We told her it was going to hurt! We went to Claire's in the mall and they did both ears at the same time. I think the look was more shock than anything. There were some other shoppers in the store and we all yelled "Yeah!" and clapped. Then, she smiled. She also got a lollipop for sitting still. The Pirate picked out his birthday present to The Mermaid... a pair of Lady Bug earrings. How cute is he????

We had family and a few friends come to celebrate The Mermaid's 4th Birthday. The kids colored, ate pizza and had cake. It warmed up enough for the kids to go play in the yard. I think everyone had a nice time.

Birthday Dinner

Well...
We did not make it out for dinner. The Pirate is not feeling well. So, we ordered in. We got Lo Mein and The Mermaid loved it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

Today, is The Mermaid's 4th birthday. It really is like her 1st birthday because she has no idea what today is or was. Daddy and I asked her what today was when we got her up...she said"Monday???" Funny girl...
On the way to school she asked me "does everyone have a birthday?" Funny girl....
We went and got Munchkins from Dunkin Donuts for her friends in class. She had a good day at school. Lots of my colleagues at school made sure to wish her well...she loved it! I think she knows what having a birthday is. Tinkerbell party on Saturday...
The Pirate is not so good. He has a fever and his tummy hurts. I found him on the floor at 3 am in the bathroom. He thought he was going to barf. Poor kid....
We are supposed to meet for Chinese Food for dinner. I hear you should eat noodles on your birthday...the longer the noodle, the longer the life!!! I 'm looking for the longest ones I can find in the Lo Mein!!!!!

Homework = Happytime

It is 6:45 and I am trying to get The Pirate to do his homework while dealing with The Mermaid and her 102 degree temp. The doctor has no idea what is wrong with her...unknown virus. Push fluids and Motrin he says.
Well...
My sweet boy HATES to do his homework. He can get very ugly sometimes about it. I told him the next time he has a problem with DOING his homework...I was documenting it.
It was our first day back to school....ugggh!

Tainted Milk

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28471558/

The Mermaid is good!!! No stones found during her ultrasound in the ER back in November. The Pneumonia was bad enough...

Funny...

Wednesday was New Years Eve...and The Mermaid and Daddy had gone to bed. The Pirate and I were watching CNN and it was very close to midnight. He is a night owl!!!! So, he makes some comment that the ball is "NOT that BIG" and then asks what's the big deal? It hits midnight...people are cheering and kissing and I said, "I guess everybody is excited about changing their calendars!" he laughed and then asked "do you have to kiss someone too?" Before I could answer he says, " I'll kiss you Mom...but NOT like that boy and girl!!!"

I got a nice peck on the cheek.....he was asleep by 12:09.
