Good morning!

What a day....We checked into our hotel at the airport and crashed. It was 12:30 in the morning. Here is a picture from our Hotel room in Guangzhou. So, we got up and met with our guide at 6:30 am to make our 8:15 am flight. We walk over to the airport in the rain and check our luggage. We find out our flight has been postponed till 10:30 because the army is running training exercises at the Shi jiaz huang airport and will not allow our plane to land. So, we sat in the airport and they announce that we are not leaving at 10:30...Well, that was it! Men and women were over at the ticket counter shouting and pounding rolled up newspapers on the counter. I thought the police were going to be called. It was ugly!!!! Finally, we were allowed to board the plane...5 hours after we were supposed to leave. We took a 40 minute ride through the Hebei province. The roads here are covered in Sunflowers..it was kinda pretty. Lots of reconstruction going on in Shi Jiaz Huang. We almost ran over a few people on bikes...no big deal! Our hotel is the nicest one in the city....see our view from our hotel room. We are staying in an executive suite on the 26th floor. The Chinese are so friendly and helpful. We had some time to relax and exchange some money...we have had none all this time. We have only eaten plane food for 3 days!!!! So, we got the best pizza from PIZZA HUT!!!! We talked to Donovan tonight...he is having a lot of fun and being a good boy. It was good to hear his voice. Speaking of calls, Karena, our guide called about the mermaid today...they are traveling tonight and staying at a different location than us. She knows what is going on, she got our package we sent her, she is good in mandarin and is active. We are so anxious about tomorrow...we will meet her about 11am...11 pm your time. So, it is finally here! Tomorrow...BIG DAY!!!!! PS Thank you Tricia for helping our families and friends follow along with our trip...we appreciate it!
